for recreate 68 to riot a little.  Maybe someone needs to bleed a little to get the news to cover the news.  Of course, I'm being facetious.

But, then, I was a young adult living in the Chicago area in the Summer and Fall of 1968.  

We need to recall that time.  Our candidate (RFK who had won the delegate count with his California win) had been murdered the night of his win. The other major candidate, Hubert Humphrey, had been deeply scarred by his support for LBJ's war. That war was being fought by draftees, mostly poor, with some middle class, kids. The Civil Rights movement had been deeply harmed by the murder of Martin King that spring and by the cultural "backlash" developing along with all the racial issues at the time.  The McCarthy people, many of whom were anti-war and pro-civil rights workers, were given short shrift by the Chicago organization, by the party and by those "in authority".  The rest is history.

We need to recognize that the destruction some of us witnessed was not productive in a winning campaign, and it enabled those crazies who now control the levers of power.

As for me, I do not want to see McCain elected because it bled and led in Denver. I would rather beat them on issues, including those of war and economics.  If the networks don't want to cover legitimate news, perhaps alternative can be found, including a nationwide boycott  of the sponsors of their "alternative programming".
