Welcome back to another edition of Trivia Tuesday! I hope everyone had a fine weekend, and for those lucky few, I imagine a good time was had by all at Frankenoid's garden party. I hope the chocolate flowed endlessly and Arwen didn't live up to her nickname.
bco gal :: Trivia Tuesday
But, once again, I digress. On to trivia. Rules as always - no looking up the answers on the internet and you can submit your own questions below.

Good luck!

#1 - Who was the Senator that gave out the Golden Fleece Awards?

#2 - Who is the Democratic Congressional candidate in CD-6?

#3 - As you may know, Governor Ritter was born in Aurora, Colorado. What was the last Governor who was also born in this state? Bonus: What city was he born in?

#4 - Recent reports on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, have focused on the "Enron Loophole" that, if closed, could drop oil prices 25 - 50% overnight according to a former head of which government board that oversees commodities markets.

#5 - Fill in the blank (two words): Article VI of the United States Constitution: "... but no _____  _____shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or Public Trust under the United States."

#6 - Who was Gerald Ford's Vice President?

Hmmmm (4.00 / 4)
2 - Hank Eng

4- SEC?

revolution from within

Yep and not quite (0.00 / 0)
#2 is correct, but #4 is not the SEC.

trivia (4.00 / 4)
1--William Proxmire

5--religious test

6-- Nelson Rockefeller

Casey Mulligan

Well you're on fire today (4.00 / 2)
All three answers are correct!

[ Parent ]
Woo-hoo! (0.00 / 0)
But, as a Colorado native, I shoulda known #3, and I would've guessed Romer.

I cannot remember anything at all about Vander Hoof.

Casey Mulligan

[ Parent ]
Nope. Vanderhoof. (4.00 / 4)
His family has been here since territorial days.

[ Parent ]
Ooh, local question! (4.00 / 4)
Roy Romer is from Holly, or at least that's where the family business still is. I'm guessing he was born somewhere in the area!

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net

Ralph by a neck! (0.00 / 0)
Forty-three seconds ahead of me, by the time stamp!

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net

[ Parent ]
Ya gotta wake up pretty early in the morning... (4.00 / 2)
to beat ol' Ralph.

Not really.

Who knew that Mark Udall was one of the most conservative Democrats running for U.S. Senate this year?  As conservative as Max Baucus and Tim Johnson.  It's true!

[ Parent ]
You're a shoe-in, then (4.00 / 2)
If I get up by 9 am, I consider that early! :)

That's an interesting link you posted there! You should make a diary featuring it. Wonder if NM would swap us Udalls? Nah, probably not.

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net

[ Parent ]
Native born governor (4.00 / 4)
Roy Romer wasn't born in Colorado, as Holly had no hospital. Dick Lamm was from Wisconsin and John Love was also from the Midwest. But short-timer John Vanderhoof, who took over when Big John was named Nixon's Energy Czar (remember, back when Republicans had a national energy policy?), was a famous son of Glenwood Springs.

You know your Governors (4.00 / 1)
Yes on Vanderhoof and yes on the fact that he was born in Glenwood Springs. Excellent!

FYI, for those who are wondering about Romer, he was born in Garden City, Kansas.

[ Parent ]
How did I forget Owens? (0.00 / 0)
Funny how our previous governor seems even less relevant than Dick Lamm or John Love. Owens, of course, hailed from Texas, but no idea where he was born.

[ Parent ]
Garden City, huh? (0.00 / 0)
Not that it matters, but I wonder why they went to Garden City? (Assuming his parents were living in the Holly area at the time.) I'm pretty sure Lamar had a hospital then, and we are only 30 miles from Holly.

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net

[ Parent ]
Poor Arwen! (4.00 / 2)
She hid in the basement for the most part.

When the last guest was shooed out the door and we went upstairs to bed, I was sure she was gonna whine at me demanding canned cat food (as there were too many damned people around for her to whine at her usual time!).

Nope.  She was very insistent that her people belonged in the bed -- she danced all over it mewing until we got in and settled down.  Then she took up her usual spot of laying on my feet and purring.

McCain/Palin: Because all cats are gray in the dark

Oh poor baby (4.00 / 1)
Maybe this will make her feel better:
